Blind Leading the Blind
The Skinny
The title says it all!
How To Play
There are three main roles in this game:
- The blindfolded player
- The team’s spokesperson
- The team
Setup:
- The blindfolded person is assigned a specific task and placed in a designated area or field.
- The team spokesperson stands facing away from the field and cannot turn around to see what’s happening.
- The team is positioned in front of the spokesperson, facing the field, but they must remain silent throughout the game.
Objective:
The goal is for the spokesperson to guide the blindfolded person to complete their task, without being able to see the field themselves.
- The team uses only gestures and body movements to communicate the details of the task to the spokesperson.
- The spokesperson, who cannot see the field, must then shout out instructions to the blindfolded person based on what they observe from the team’s motions.
The facilitator will have already set up a task (e.g., “pick up the ball, bring it to the bucket, and drop it in”), and has shared the task with the team. It’s the team’s job to use their motions to guide the spokesperson to communicate the right instructions to the blindfolded person so they can complete the task successfully
